“Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.” Psalm 100:4
We have SO much to be thankful for! Obviously there is no way to list all the ways the Lord has blessed us in this one short post but here are just a few of the ways He has confirmed to our congregation that He loves and cares for us the past few months:
Fellowship: the Covid ban was lifted to some degree in our state/county, so we are back in church. What a praise that is!! Though we still have to wear our masks and social distance, we are oh so thankful to be worshiping together again. Ministry to one another is critical and we are glad to be able to see each other again….even if it is behind a mask.
Prayer: we sure haven’t let a virus keep us from praying for one another. Our faithful staff has made every effort to keep that prayer chain going whether it be email or snail mail. And though we still have many that need a healing touch from our faithful Father, we are singing those praises for the many prayers He has answered. Prayers of healing, financial aid, guidance, educational challenges, new members and much more.
Missions: In addition to outreach to one another via cards, phone calls, text messages, Zoom meetings, and meals, we have also faithfully fulfilled out commitment to give financially to the Annie Armstrong Offering (March), the Dixie Jackson Offering (October) and Operation Christmas Child (shoe boxes due November 1). Each of these outreach ministries haven’t missed a beat because of the virus. This is just another way our Lord has shown us He is bigger than any virus. We are thankful for the many members who have given to these ministries as well as the VBC general budget so others can be blessed!
Worship: Speaking of being blessed….our decorating team has once again abundantly blessed us with scenery in our sanctuary that provides an atmosphere of worship and adoration to our gracious and loving Lord. Add to that the wonderful arrangements our praise and worship team compiles each week for us to both hear and participate in and well… all I can say is we are indeed truly thankful for each one of these team members for their hard work and dedication to provide a worshipful experience.
The Word: last, but by no means least, we are thankful for our pastor who spends hours each week in preparation of presenting the Word of God to us, his flock. His faithfulness to present the Word in a clear and concise way is a blessing indeed! Not to mention all the many phone calls of encouragement he makes each week, as well as hospital and home visits to show the love of the Lord. We are thankful to him and his dear wife, Ginger for the many tireless hours they spend in ministry to each of us.
So if you’re looking for a warm and welcoming church home to be a part of, we’d love to have you join us!
