When we heard about another need at Camp Siloam, the need for 3,000 summer camp brochures to be folded, it goes without saying that VBC folks rose to the occasion; especially since the task could be accomplished at the church. The need was shared and we had so many volunteers show up that we were able to get them all folded and boxed in a little over an hour!!! We anticipated it taking much longer so boy were we surprised. In all, we had more than 32 volunteers show up for the ‘folding party’ and it was a good time of fellowship and service. These brochures will be mailed out in the coming days to parents/guardians to let them know about the upcoming camps offered Summer 2021 along with all the many activities their youngsters can experience. Now you may think just folding brochures isn’t a big deal, and perhaps it’s not but here’s what one church member shared about the efforts of the folks that volunteered their time and hands….
“Thank you so much for your help in this worthwhile ministry! Let’s spend some time in praising God for His blessings in this effort. VBC folks always come through! I think that the Bible teaches that we will know one another in heaven and get to meet other saints who are there. Just a thought—imagine that you are walking around in that beautiful place and a person comes up to you, thanking you for helping with various tasks that facilitated Camp Siloam’s influence; then that person says, “I was saved at Camp Siloam in the summer of 2021. Thank you for what you did to help the Camp run smoothly that year!” …..Kinda’ puts a whole new perspective on what we do, doesn’t it?”
Matthew 25:40 states, “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.'”
Let’s keep working while there is still light….you never know who you might touch for the Kingdom!
