Sheilah Pridemore | Minister of Music

Right from the start, let me say thank you for your interest in praising our Lord through music. Now, a little bit about me.

Prior to retiring in Bella Vista my husband Nolen and I served as missionaries with the International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention for 30 years, serving in both Brazil and Spain. During this time I was privileged to work with choirs, ensembles and worship groups, encouraging and training Brazilian musicians to use their gifts for God’s glory.

Before surrendering to God’s call to missions, I earned a degree in Music Education from Friends University in Wichita, Kansas and a Masters degree in Opera Performance from Wichita State University. Before going overseas I worked in the public schools and in church music leadership. I have also performed in operas, music theatre productions, concert series and conventions.

We have a daughter, Debbie, a son, Steve, a daughter-in-law, Jessica, and two delightful grandchildren, Kyle and Claire. The “furry member” of the family is our ball-playing poodle, Pepper. My pass-time is painting.

I began serving as Minister of Music at Village Baptist Church in October of 2017, after retiring from the mission field. The opportunity of sharing God’s love through music at Village Baptist is for me a passion, a privilege, a challenge, and a joy. It is my prayer that you will consider joining us.
